Emberglow Cattery - Adoption & Delivery Policy

Welcome to Emberglow Cattery!  We're passionate about finding loving homes for our healthy, playful kittens. This policy outlines the steps for adopting your new family member.  Your kitten's well-being and your satisfaction are our top priorities.

1.  The Adoption Journey Begins Here:

* Application: Begin your adoption journey by completing our online application.  This helps us understand your lifestyle and find the perfect match for you.

* Matching Your Kitten to Your Family: Once your application is reviewed and approved, we'll present you with kittens that likely fit your preferences. We encourage prospective adopters to arrange a video call or meet-and-greet session with the kitten(s) to strengthen the connection between you and your new four-legged friend.

* Important Considerations for Kitten Selection: Remember, each kitten is unique! We strive to find the ideal match; while we will make every effort to meet your desires, specific coat colors, personalities, or coat types cannot be guaranteed.  If the kitten you select doesn't quite fit your expectations, your deposit can be applied to another kitten from the litter or future batches of kittens.

* Non-refundable deposit:  A non-refundable deposit of $600 is required to secure your chosen kitten. This deposit is an expression of commitment and dedication between us and helps us facilitate a smooth transition process.

* Contract & Final Payment:   Prior to pickup, you will receive your adoption contract to review. The contract outlines important conditions regarding health, vaccinations, and future care. The remaining balance is due one week before the kitten's delivery date. Please note that all payments must be made in USD.

2.  Bringing Your New Companion Home:

* Delivery/Pickup Criteria:  Kittens for adoption are typically ready to leave our care at 11 weeks or older.  This is based on the critical development stage reached by this age.

* Local Pick-up/Delivery (Louisville, KY & Surrounding Areas): If you reside in the immediate vicinity of our cattery (Louisville, KY, and surrounding areas), we will offer local delivery/pickup at a mutually agreed upon location. Delivery cost ranges from $200 to $300.

* Nationwide Shipping (United States & Canada): For adoption locations outside the immediate area, we offer nationwide delivery to all locations in the United States and Canada.   Shipping, facilitated by reputable carriers, and the delivery cost ranges from $400 to $800. Please note that additional charges might occur based on distance. We will provide estimated costs once your application is complete.

* Shipping Restrictions:  Shipping is not available during severe weather conditions (temperatures below 25°F or above 85°F). We will contact you immediately if any unexpected circumstances affect delivery plans.

* Delivery Confirmation & Tracking:  We provide you with a tracking number upon initial delivery shipment and a delivery confirmation will be sent upon arrival. This ensures swift updates regarding your new kitten's journey home!

* Import Restrictions:  Please inquire about applicable import restrictions in the adopter's location to avoid any possible complications.

3.  Health and Wellness Guarantee:

* Comprehensive Health Checks:  All kittens undergo thorough health checks and screenings from our veterinarian. This includes genetic testing and specific breed-related health standards.

* Health Guarantee: We offer a 1 year health guarantee for any pre-existing genetic conditions or illnesses that arise shortly before, or develop  within a specified time frame, after the handover.
